Wonderful boutique hotel in quiet setting

Our family of 4 stayed at this lovely hotel just over a week ago for 3 nights and had a wonderful time. The villas are simple and clean. The beds and comforters are amazing. The staff is incredible. When you are there, you feel like you are being hosted by a family. Everyone there is so kind and hospitable. The breakfast is simple but so fresh and delicious. We had lunch and dinner at the hotel, and they are by far the best meals we had on our trip to Thailand. Again, the ingredients are fresh as most if not all of the produce is grown and picked from their own farm. The chef has done an amazing job. The spa is also fantastic, clean, and very professional.

Some reviews say that the resort is only 10-15 minutes to the main city center, however it is really about 20-25. They provide 2 shuttles per day going into the city (which have to be pre-arranged), but we wished they provided even just a couple more. We mostly had to take taxis to and from the resort (and your return trip is usually best pre-arranged since taxis are not as abundant and the hotel will call someone reliable). But despite the distance from the main city (with it being our first time there, our intention was to sightsee and hang out in Chiang Mai), we now cannot imagine staying anywhere else other than Narittaya. It's a wonderful quiet resort with a homey atmosphere. The service is amazing, the people are kind, and it is very relaxing there. I cannot wait to go back.

Fantastic stay

I did the 3 day yoga and meditation package and stayed in a garden villa. I did not want to leave.

The grounds are absolutely beautiful. It's about 20mins out from Chiang Mai airport (ask hotel reception to organise an airport or city taxi pick up for you as it's a little difficult to find, costs 350-400thb). A lot of the food served is organically grown and tastes absolutely delicious. Teddy (the main chef) also does cooking classes which were highly regarded. Por (aka Beiber),the waiter, takes care of all your needs.

The yoga and meditation course is intense. There's a 3 hr session in the morning and 2-3 hrs in afternoon, which involves discussion on yoga principles, then practice in the asana postures and relaxation/meditation. I had private lessons and Hiromi is so knowledgable and catered the exercises to focus on my areas of tightness and tension. You learn a sun salutation sequence and then 12 yoga postures. Meditation exercises focus on cleansing and relaxation. She is absolutely amazing, studying for a year at an ashram in India, then further study in Chiang Mai. She teaches Sivananda yoga.

The garden cottage had a lovely view and was very comfortable and clean. Just remember morning and nights in Chiang Mai in January are cold so bring warm clothes. There's an outside shower but there's also an inside bath.

Highly recommend this sanctuary for those seeking time out and relaxation. You can organise a shuttle to take you into the city or to see the many temples, you can also borrow bikes to see the local sights but I didn't leave for 3days!

Relaxing, Beautiful and Delicious

This is our fourth time my husband have gone there. We start to relax as soon as we turn into the drive. Teddy, Lita and Pisit couldn't do enough for us. We like the villa with the private pool and sitting area. Biking before breakfast on the quiet country road or into the hills with the resort bikes is great. As others have said each item on the menu is fresh from the garden and handcrafted to taste so delicious. We ate the vegetarian wraps many times. The desserts are made on site as well. Great cappichino and wine. Go to the spa. You won't be disappointed. This time I bought the shampoo, conditioning and bath gel that are in our room to take home. All the ingredients are grown there.

Amazing food peaceful place

We spent 4 nights at the Narritaya. The pool villas are just perfect, clean and quiet. The food is amazing and most of the ingredients come from their organic garden. The chocolate mud cake is a must try. The spa is also the place to go if you want to relax. The staff is really helpful and friendly. We are looking forward to go there again!
